LESSON THREE: Aligning Values in the Wake of Mulugeta Seraw’s Murder

Students will learn about Mulugeta Seraw, an Ethiopian immigrant whose murder mobilized a community response, and will explore those community responses by reading about Seraw and listening to audio clips from the It Did Happen Here podcast. Topics discussed include Seraw’s background and family, the circumstances of his murder, and the tactics anti-racists used to organize against hate groups.
