LESSON FOUR: Diversity of Tactics — The Action Part

Students will analyze a summary of racially motivated incidents from 1987 to 1988 to look for patterns as well as read newspaper articles to examine bias in the media. They will also listen to audio clips from the It Did Happen Here podcast to learn about the tactics and actions of the Coalition for Human Dignity and Anti-Racist Action. Topics discussed Include groups targeted for racially motivated violence, the authorities’ response, and how mainstream media misrepresented those events.
